Civil litigation covers legal disputes that are not criminal: disagreements over contracts, money owed, property, reputation, and personal or business rights. At Kuner Law, we help clients in Mississauga and across Ontario understand their position honestly, weigh the cost and benefit of every option, and move toward the best available outcome, whether that is a negotiated settlement or a fought trial.
A lawsuit is stressful and often expensive. Our role is to take the weight off your shoulders: to explain the process in plain language, to protect your interests at each stage, and to pursue resolution efficiently wherever the law and the facts allow.

Ask Us DirectlyHow long does a civil case take in Ontario?
It depends, but many matters resolve in months while contested Superior Court actions can take a year or more. We give you a realistic timeline early and update it as the case develops.
Is there a deadline to sue?
Usually yes. Ontario's general limitation period is two years from when you knew or ought to have known about the claim, so act promptly to protect your rights.
What is the difference between Small Claims Court and Superior Court?
Small Claims Court handles claims up to a set monetary limit with a simpler process; larger or more complex claims proceed in the Superior Court of Justice.
Will my case go to trial?
Most civil disputes settle before trial. We prepare every file as if it could go to trial, which strengthens your position in negotiation.
How much will it cost?
It varies with complexity. We discuss fees openly at the outset and look for the most cost-effective path to your goal.
